Hello 2009. I'm back.

After taking a month off of work, I can honestly say I'm excited to start working again. I had a great vacation and really got to spend some quality time with my family without that nagging feeling of "you have SOO much to do, get on your computer NOW." It was great. Truly refreshing.

I also had time to reflect on 2008. What a wonderful and blessed year my family had. Early in the year my husband was laid off his job. We were concerned, stressed, and worried about the future. After a lot of thought, we decided to really push my business and see where we went with it. Devan stopped looking for a job, and put all his efforts into helping me succeed with my business, or rather OUR business. It really was a leap of faith, but it felt right.

To say the least, this year has been great. Not only was I able to make a living from my photography business, I was also able to 1- spend EVERY day with my husband and daughter, 2 - pay all our bills AND save money, and 3 - Do something that I really LOVE.

I really feel like it doesn't get any better than that. I am lucky.....BLESSED, and feel like I am going after my dreams. If you haven't read the book The Alchemist, I highly recommend you do. After reading this book I really felt like "wow, I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. I am following my dream, and the universe/God is opening the way for me."

Thank you God, for blessing me so much. I truly don't deserve all that I've been given, but thank you THANK YOU nonetheless.

Thank you Devan for helping me achieve my dreams, for sticking by me when I'm overworked, overstressed and mean as a bear, for being Mr. Mom, for always putting things in perspective, and most of all believing in me.

Thank you Violet for making me laugh everyday, and for reminding me that LOVE and FAMILY are the most important things in life.

And thank you to all my dear clients for trusting me to photograph their families, weddings, babies, etc. Thank you for your friendships. Thank you for your business. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!

2009 is now here, and I am feeling excited. I can only hope that things go as well as 2008. And maybe even have a small wish that it goes BETTER than 2008. We'll just have to wait and see.

And since I am in the mode of reminiscing...seeing how far I've come.....here is a small sampling of the first wedding I shot in 2003. Photographed with a trusty Bronica sq-a and a Canon Rebel. I did bridals, engagements, wedding, and an album all for $800. I feel like I've come such a long way. Artistically, and from a business stand point.

Dreams are so STRONG if we listen to them, and follow them.
